FIRST FRIDAYS

On JUNE 2, blogs, websites and MySpace pages all over are joining together to post the first chapter of my new novel, DELIVER US FROM EVELYN. (See a sample entry here.)

If YOU want to take part: By Monday, tell me your NAME, the name of your SITE or BLOG, and the URL so you can be included in the press release.

If this goes over well enough, we could make a regular event of it, promoting a different author every month.

I'm in. But how do I put the whole first chapter in a blog entry. Will it fit?

Oh, and where do we copy the first chapter from?

Here is a sample blog entry
http://novelspoilers.blogspot.com/

You should be able to literally copy and paste the whole thing (book cover, links and all) into your own blog. It saves you the trouble of even formatting it.

If you (or anyone else) has trouble doing it this way, email me so I can send it all to you as attachments.

Mirtika said...

Thanky. I don't think the links will work on copy/pasting. Blogger needs those "a href=" and such doohickeys.

Blogger works EXACTLY that way for me: Drag your mouse over pictures and text and then copy and past it into your own blog ... and it remembers the links and everything.

(I am speaking of the pic and text in the body; the link in the title is something you have to enter yourself.)

HOWEVER: If you have (or anyone else has) trouble, email me and then I can click "reply" and attach image and text for you.

Not too late - we do this on (or around) June 2, this coming Friday. A couple of participants are going to post early or late, but the "official" day of solidarity is Friday, June 2. I think we're up to like 32 blogs, sites and MySpace pages now.

As I mentioned in another post, we have a couple of stragglers who might be posting early next week - so if you post over the weekend or Monday or Tuesday, it still counts!
